Texting?..Calling?

There are many ways to talk to people, either texting or you can call the person. Over the past few years I have noticed that texting has been increasing, almost every teen that has a phone has text messaging. So what is the point of calling people when you can just text them? In my opinion, if your on the phone with someone and it is awkward talking to them there will be a dead silence on both lines. It is just better to text because you don't feel stupid for saying something wrong in your own voice, and somehow it takes less work to want to talk with someone. All you have to do is type in words and send, just like an e-mail. Phone companies are even coming out with phones where there is already a keyboard that you can send e-mail or texts faster. I admit that I have one of those phones, and I am a text addict. If I get bored I will just talk through texting, even to random people that I barely talk too. It even comes handy in school because if you need to tell someone something right away, all you do it sneak out your phone and text them. Plus you can't call them during class since that will give it away to the teacher your being interrupted for everyone. There are kids that are in elementary that have cell phones already, and I am pretty sure that they have texting as well.

It is kind of interesting what their going to have for us in the future, whether there will be a t.v. on your cell phone to talk back and forth or something more intelligent to have.
